I’m one of those people who has dozens of apps, hundreds of pictures and videos (over 900 at last count)…and an iPhone with 16 GB of storage. Every time I want to take a picture, I’m scrambling to clear off some pictures, or delete an app to make room. Not only is that totally frustrating, but it’s a waste of time!
If you’re like me and you’re constantly battling with an “almost full” phone, here are the top four things you can delete to clear some space on your phone.
1) Delete your dupes
You know there have been at least a few times when you were trying to get the perfect selfie of you and your cat, and you had to take 25 pictures before you go it just right. Go back in, keep the good one, and delete the rest. I guarantee this will clear out at least 20% of your photo space just with this one easy step!
2) Delete your videos or move them to YouTube or Vimeo (or Google Drive, etc.)
Videos hog the most space on your phone, at a whopping 78 MB per minute of footage! Create a YouTube or Vimeo or Google Drive account, download the app, and then upload your videos. It allows you to keep them safe and watch (or share) them whenever you like without clogging up your phone!
3) Delete your music
If you have a crazy big collection of MP3 music files on your phone, consider clearing them off and using a free service like Pandora to stream music instead!
4) Clear off those old apps
Everybody has at least a few apps they don’t use anymore, and some of them take up a surprising amount of space! Gaming apps especially can use more than 1 GB if they have 3D graphics. So clear off that old Angry Birds app and you can make room for Pokemon Go!
